The first presidential debate between President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden has concluded. Following the night, the biggest takeaway is that there were no surprises, and nothing happened that will change any attitudes, cause either candidate to gain or lose any votes, or move any undecided voters one way or the other.
Indeed, while the debate was contentious, and at times became personal, it lacked any real substance that could change attitudes in any meaningful way.
Given the level of back-and-forth between the candidates, the substance of the candidates’ answers was often lost and took a back seat to their style of argumentation and command of the room.
Though, in terms of style, in my view, President Trump was the clear winner—Trump was in command of the conversation, in control of the discussion, and if not presidential, certainly more in command.
In terms of actual substance, however, the night was a draw.

Trump also won on substance. Biden rambled quite a bit, and his answers were vague.
Basically, Trump won but nobody won.

That’s simply no true. Voters and the polls is the coming days will move in wide margins to Trump.
Given that so many left-wing commentators are advising Biden to cancel the remaining debates, I’d say that Trump won.

And Doug Schoen is a long time Democrat though he has been accused by fellow Democrats of being a fake Democrat.
“Biden” was just Wallace’s ventriloquist dummy. The debate was between Trump, Wallace, and the dummy.
He was allowed to not answer questions. Wallace kept pressing the President to answer to his satisfaction. Totally biased.
The ratings for this debate were the worst..in 2016, 40 mil watched..this time..20 mil..I was turned off the moment Wallace showed himself to be a colossal jacka@@
Biden gets excited and makes things up. His actual answer on lying about his law school record.

No one doubts that Trump is a strong alpha male.
The substance was there but overlooked by the brawl. Only now we appreciate what was said and see the many lies of Joe. And it will be shown and held against him in Republican ads.
For those paying attention, Biden was on the edge several times. We could clearly see him derailing into dementia on several occasions and Wallace would jump in trying to put him back on the tracks.
It was so obvious.
