Mace is good. I like it in the apple and onion sauce I make for pork chops.

I make my own blends usually. But I use a number of spices in my cooking.

I add a couple more spices for pumpkin pies, and I never used canned, only from a real pumpkin or squash.

I did a taste test, and people can't tell the difference if sugar/brown sugar is added, or not. So I leave that out.

The only other thing a pumpkin is good for is decoration...

Bill Clinton said, “ A warm pumpkin is like a good woman”...
or something close to that.

I grow the little pie pumpkins and they really do not need sugar. I can well believe the stories that people used to make a syrup out of pumpkins for sweetening.

This post needed a “barf alert”, but not for the usual reasons.

“...No, pumpkin does not go ‘pretty well in a pie’...”

That depends on taste.............

“...Actually, the only thing a pumpkin is good for is “Pumpkin Chunking”, seeing how far you can throw one from a catapult...”

That depends on whether you are an adult or a kid...

"I don't even use pumpkin spice in pumpkin pie."

I don't make pumpkin pies anymore, but when I did, I would buy the pumpkins grown especially for baking. I'd cut them up, scoop out the seeds which I'd bake later, bake the pumpkin in the oven, peel the skin off, put the meat in the blender, add a little water, then put it all in a pot to cook down further, then measure the amount needed for one pie, put it into little plastic storage containers, and freeze it. I used the individual spices the recipe called for (ie., sweetened condensed milk), and people told me it was the best pumpkin pies they'd ever had. Never used canned pumpkin.

If you think pumpkin pie tastes good, then you have no taste.

I did think of another suitable use for pumpkin pie. Cover it with whipped cream and start a pie fight.

Do we need pumpkin spice everything?

Because. I'm looking for a way to get my air compressor to produce pumpkin spice compressed air. That way my tires will smell good.

A friend gave me some homemade salsa yesterday. As he put it, it’s not for the faint of heart.

Made up a box of macaroni and cheese for lunch. Tossed in about 1/4 cup of salsa and a pack of tuna.

It was actually pretty good.
