For your education...

I haven’t dipped my toe in the cesspool that is Michigan elections. I will answer you with knowledge and best guesses.

Question 1 and 2. I believe they open and validate mail in and absentee ballots before election day but they are not entered in to the official tabulation or count until election day. They are run through the machine on election day. This should happen at the County Clerks office.

Question 3. The media usually declares the race. I dont believe the mail ins or absentees are ignored. They are added to the total before certification by the SOS. The public just dont see the total total after certification.

Second number 3. That is where the SOS gets involved. So in Michigan, Bensen I’m sure will make it 3 weeks or something ridiculous. But it’s by rule. Law guides but the SOS has power. Man I miss Ruth Johnson. Bensen is a Jackwagon.

Question number 4. The County Clerks control the process as part of the certification process they have to send to Lansing.

Now for the bonus round. What is my county? Hint: there is and old beer will the same name different spelling.

I hope that helps.

RE: Your county.
Also, a verdant valley in New York state?
And, IIRC, the home of said “old” beer.
Cash crop of that valley was hops.
Again, IIRC.
amiryt?

My basic concern is the authority to count votes in the event of a close election.
Previous experience has seen such elections turn in to a free-for-all of ballot counting before anyone gets the courts to step in.
In such, the cry to “count all the votes” will be strong.
And it may involve several duplicate votes via provisional ballots, “withheld” mail/absentee ballots and ultimately ballots received /after/ the deadline but before a re-count materializes (thereby negating a recount request).
This is an historic strategy (Minnesota and Florida) and likely will be done again.
But, yes, down ticket is key in both our effort to save our Constitution and to root our voter fraud, simultaneously.
I plan on going to the poll to vote down ticket.
And, while I’m there, I’ll vote for Trump.
LOCAL SLIDE
I have been non-plus with John James outreach.
He appears to be targeting the population centers with little regard to semi- & rural populations.
They are by no means a lock for him, (according to my disappointed church friends).
Pragmatic folk, those German farmers.
Rather the devil they know than the devil they don’t know.
That and, up until impeachment, I really had no reason to dislike my frat brother Gary (Zeta Sigma, Alma College - Go Sigs!).
He has been unobtrusive (non-existent on the national scene) and done some good work on behalf of our farmers.
He has since shown that he is lock-step in his party and not serving the whole of the people of Michigan.
Michigan is purple and has been since before the colors were swapped.
Michigan farmers are fired-up over Trump but will take their time with the down-ticket races.
Woe be upon those that support he wicked witch of the Gretch.
they will lose...bigly.
