Superior numbers have always been an advantage in war, all other things being equal. Even when all other things weren’t equal, superior numbers made up for *some* weaknesses in other areas. And when those numbers were lopsided enough in one party’s favor, it was occasionally enough to secure victory for that party. Only occasionally because larger numbers also have to be trained, fed and supplied with weaponry, the provision of which doesn’t always materialize.
