There is no “battle” although the media and democrat party keep saying there is one. There are 2 activities:
1. POTUS nominates candidate. Democrats cannot stop this.
2. Senate votes to confirm. Democrats cannot stop this.
In between there are democrat mud slinging displays, euphemistically called “hearings.” They are meaningless theater.
Nothing to “battle.”
I think you are correct. I suspect the only battle will be to keep Mittens in line when he decides to grandstand.
Having the hearings at all is a huge risk the Democrats don’t need. Bringing out the Craziest of their suppers to riot isn’t going to play well today.
