The 800 block of Main Street in Louisville is called Museum Row. It hosts a number of first class museums including the famed Louisville Slugger baseball bats and baseball memorabilia, African-American genealogy, Kentucky Bourbon, Sons of the American Revolution library and museum and possibly others.
Probably one of the best collections of Americana outside the Smithsonian Museums in DC. Much of it is irreplaceable.

Was there a couple of years ago and visited the baseball museum and Kentucky Bourbon. Received a miniature baseball bat that I gave to the stepson of the boss who has Downs syndrome.
I came in on a special passenger train that was rocked by the local ferals as we slowly came to a signal stop as we headed toward downtown from the south. We were directed to hunker down and stay away from the windows. An urgent call went out to the train dispatcher to give us a green signal and alert police to our predicament.
