It’s not a terrible accident, it’s bad judicial and LE judgment.

After midnight banging on her door yelling “police, open up”.
Looking for drug related money - basically a non violent offense.

A no knock warrant for that? If memory serves (I could be wrong on this) most of the justification for the warrant was based on tapped jailhouse phone conversations by a scumbag inmate.

You live in a major city and you just open the door in the middle of the night to people shouting “police, open up”? Only if you have a death wish by a home invader.

This situation should never have occurred. I would very much like to see the LE superiors who authorized taking the warrant request to a judge, along with the judge who authorized it both called on the carpet.

No charges in her death. Three counts on one officer for shooting into three different apartments. Class D Felony.

Absolutely. The harm caused by no-knock warrants—not just in lives lost but in squander of the public trust—far outweighs any real benefits.
