My grandchildren treat firearms as if they were glowing red hot. No touch’em. But I still keep chambers empty until it’s time to fire.
He was obviously not into the gun culture. Everyone gun owner I know would break a handgun down before showing it to someone.

We had a negligent discharge at a gun show here in the Atlanta area over the weekend. I was very pleased the guy they talked to in the news report described it as a “negligent discharge”, a term I approve of, and not as an “accidental discharge”, a term I abhor.
Clearly this grocery store case was a negligent discharge.

Agree. Have 3 and would not recommend them to noobs looking for a first gun.
I never recommend anything but a revolver (or single shot) for new shooters.
I’ve been shooting for 40 years and I don’t even trust myself with a semi-auto. I don’t shoot enough times (probably that’s the problem) to be proficient and feel safe with it.
