I wrote earlier about trying to express my reasons to my dad in a calm and intellectual manner. I actually thought I had been calm and well-reasoned. I thought I might even be making progress.
Today I found out he put a Trump sign in his yard.
I got pissed. Really pissed. And I sent him and my mom a text message. Hands shaking, tears in eyes. This is what it said:
Due to the signs in the yard, the kids and I will not be down. The current occupant of the White House is preaching hate and violence, endangering the lives and safety of many of my friends. This is not acceptable to me at all. There is a complete disregard for women, minorities, science, ethics, and morality. Please consider if you support Trump that much. Because I hate him that much. I wanted to be upfront and honest about my feelings.

My wife has an uncle who has basically disowned, cut off communication with, most of his family, including my MIL and FIL, us, my SIL, etc., over Trump. And this is a guy who could use some family support. Complete #TDS issue.
I have a 1st cousin in Seattle who’s a school teacher. I haven’t seen or corresponded with her in years.
I was doing some research for the family tree and I found out she has a Facebook page. She has favorite links — one to the Democrat Party, and another to Antifa.
I don’t ever want to see her or speak to her again. She’s a communist.
I read about 100 comments and 100% of them are against this arrogant, manipulative, elitist bastard. That level of condemnation of a hardcore leftist is really astonishing on “Medium.” People really took him to task.

Liberals have weaponized emotional blackmail. “You’re killing us, you’re invalidating our existence”. “I’m offended, so you must stop.”
What they don’t realize is that this fuels every bad stereotype of said member groups. Women and blacks get hysterical at a neutral word choice? You become violent when you hear a contrary opinion or “hate fact”? We need to put you in your safe space and keep you there, for your emotional safety and our literal safety. Go thee to the women’s quarters and ghetto, we won’t let you leave.
