Looking for travel advice from Ohio to New Hampshire. I will be going through:
New York:
Buffalo
South of Rochester
Syracuse
Utica
Schenectady
Massachusetts:
Springfield
Worcester
Way west of Boston to Lowell:
New Hampshire:
Salem
Looking for information on places to avoid due to ANTIFA/BLM activity.
We will be day travelling only. Do any of our east coasters have any advice?
As long as youre not passing through greater Boston youll probably be okay. Springfield had some unrest earlier this year but nothing severe. Lowell is okay but absolutely avoid Lawrence. Dont have anything on your car that would identify you as a Republican or especially as a Trump supporter, just to be safe.
Rochester NY riots.
Lunch stop in Western MA. Near Pittsfield.
Rush hour jam up is expected near Lowell, heading north into NH
Syracuse is safe.
At the beginning of this all, BLM/antifa tried to turn a legitimately peaceful march into rioting and vandalism.
The mayor of Syracuse was all over it in a heart beat. The police arrested the perps and the mayor instituted a curfew within hours of the incident.
That was the end of that.
He’s a Christian and political independent.
Schenectady is a hole.
How are you traveling and are you stopping at each place or just passing through?
NH would be safe.
It’s a constitutional carry state and when they tried stuff in Manchester, the citizens and police escorted them through the city and again, arrested any who tried anything.
Trump signs all over the state.
Western MA is clear. We havent had any issues. If you are going up I 91, it should be generally clear the whole way.
Doesnt say if you are stopping anywhere, but just about everything is open. Masks are required. But its pretty much back to boring normal from Springfield to Keene.
Hi.
My advice? Don’t travel there at all.
Achieve low earth orbit and nuke NYC from space. It’s the only way to be sure.
Is this a vanity...?

There is the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield. The Armory and HOF are about a mile from each other. They are both safe. Dont wander too far from either.
Ohio is a high risk state according to NY CT MA so you are subject to quarantine or a fine if you do more than quickly transit through them. These states are acting in coordination and so have very similar rules.
Just search “[stateName] covid travel” to find the state website for more details.
Take pics and post them!
For New York: Pack food and drink. Don’t get off the Interstate in NYS except to use a rest area.
And our highways suck, especially I-88. Make sure your vehicle is in good shape and your tires are properly inflated.
Happy trails!
Don’t.
There used to be a small monument in Springfield on State St were Washington stopped to pick out The Springfield Armory site. Maybe still there. Nice bit of history. Enjoy Your trip.
most welcome
The NY thruway is one of the best interstates I’ve traveled on for rest stops.
They have ones with gas and facilities about every 30-45 mins of driving.
The thruway will absolutely avoid the problem areas in Rochester and Syracuse. Course, if you blink, you’ll miss Syracuse.
Once you get past Little Falls outside Albany, the drivers get crazier. Around Albany, it can be very cut throat.
When you get to where 87 and 90 split off just before you get into Albany, you will want to bear to the right and follow the signs to Boston instead of the signs for I-90.
It doesn’t make much sense at first but where you are heading, you will want to stay to the right instead of going left to 87N and 90.
