The biggest tanker in Venezuela, Ayacucho, has changed its name to Maximo Gorki and has been sailing under the Russian flag since June, Equasis reports.
This is a vessel with a deadweight of 320,800 tons, that is, of the VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) class. It holds 2 million barrels of oil.
The tanker was built by Chinas Bohai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. In 2013, Venezuelas state oil company Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) inaugurated the new supertanker. Venezuelan Oil Minister Rafael Ramirez then said that this is the aircraft carrier of the Fatherland, of sovereignty.
Of more than 800 ships that have ever flown the Venezuelan flag, there are only sporadic examples of transition to another jurisdiction - Liberia or Panama. Maximo Gorki may now be the largest tanker flying the Russian flag.
Torpedoes away.
It would be a real shame if that tanker were to hit an iceberg.
Torpedo a Russia flagged tanker. That’s a fantastic idea. I wonder why nobody else thought of it?
It’s a Venezuelan Tanker reflagged in an attempt to avoid sanctions. Besides, once it’s sunk whose to know who sunk it?
Also if the computers controlling the navigation, rudders, electrical, propulsions, pumps and radios were all showing signs of defective chips being used, they may have to put into drydock until all these are replaced with proper USA made and reliable computer chips.
Pity that they are under Embargo Sanctions though.
We cant afford to have any oil spills. Its bad for the environment and the marine wildlife and all that jazz.
In fact, the same should happen to the 300+ ship CCCP fleet raping the fishing grounds off the coast of South America.

Or, is it your position that the Russians and Chinese can do whatever they want, whenever they want, anywhere they want? And, the USA should just stand down and accept all of it.
We don’t need to be the policemen of the world but, conversely, we don’t need to be the Pajama Boys of the world either. When we are openly flouted there needs to be a response.
Where did you get that info? It is Chinese, not Russkies.
On the same token; should Canada start a war with most of Europe for fishing in or close to its waters?
Come-on man.
All kinds of schemes involving RUS and Latin American companies.
There is a good percentage of RUS crossover with Nicaragua and Guatemala as well.
A couple of mines or torpedoes would resolve this issue, quickly.
Upping what ante?
Or post nuke Pershing rockets in Ukraine and Taiwan
They want to play games, we can too
I guess by trying to get a foothold in americas.
BTW, read your page.
Do u do sun and wind for energy?
In a process of 10 acres purchase and wanna be totally self reliant.
Wanted to 25 years ago but the technology wasn’t there.
Neither work well in this climate. Up here both solar a d wind farms are put up to garner monies from utilities that are forced to purchase their production by law.
Small scale solar or wind can work with an engineered house and some rigging.
Usually there are some model houses around that one can visit. Some sell products so be aware.
