No, there is no direct election of the candidate, only the slate of electors. The vote will be counted for the RAT of the day. (please, God, not HER)

Correct. You vote for person not party. Of course, in this day and age the riots will continue but at a more alarming rate.

Not true. You vote for a slate of electors in the electoral college. The electors are pledged to a particular candidate.

If Biden runs out of steam before the election they try to substitute someone else. Although there will be court battles over "faithless electors" and requirements to be on the ballot.

It will be as exciting as it gets. Trump's odds improve with every new development.

No. You don’t vote for a person or the party. You are voting for Electors pledged to vote for someone. If the someone is gone, they will vote for someone else. Since all Electors are party stalwarts, have no illusions on who they will vote for if Biden is ‘gone’.
