Something is definitely going on with Joe Biden. His campaign this morning called a "lid" for him for the day which means he is remaining at home. I checked for tomorrow and again, he has no campaigning scheduled. In fact, so far I have seen NOTHING scheduled for him for next week.
In effect, his campaign has ground to a halt. Yes, there is definitely something going on behind the scenes. Probably a medical situation.
It take no stretch of the imagination to see that the Democrats might have to replace Biden on the ticket. However, since voting in several states have already begun, the question is what happens to those ballots already cast? You can't assume that just because a voter cast his ballot for Biden that it should automatically go to whatever Democrat they replace him with, such as Hillary. In fact, the Constitution does not even refer to political parties.
Also what happens to all the mail-in and other ballots already printed up? Would they have to be ditched?
They will pull another "Torricelli Switch" before the debate...and no one will stop them.
They are for the Biden-Harris slate of electors, not the Democrat slate since the Constitution makes no reference to political parties.

they will all be grand fathered in to the next Democratic Presidential candidate.
If Biden croaks, but still wins the election, then I think that Harris would step up inauguration day.
Theyll go Weekend at RGBs.
No telling how long theyd kept her going.
Really? Then can you tell me when and where his next campaign stop will be? Nothing today. Nothing for tomorrow. And so far nothing for next week. Please. Tell us when and where he next begins campaigning because right now it looks like his campaign has ground to a complete HALT.
> The ballots are for the Democrat slate of electors, not SloJoe <
I think youve got it exactly right. If Biden bows out - or is forced out - the DNC gets to choose his replacement. And those D electors will (out of party loyalty) vote for whomever the DNC picks...Michelle, Hillary, Pee Wee Herman, etc.
Can you cite some links to support that? This was discussed a few weeks ago on a news program and they said what I wrote, If that was wrong, Id like to see some support for your contention that a voter votes for an elector rather than a candidate. How do write in candidates get allocated to those electors?
Pee Wee Herman is Joe Biden with some energy.
Mel E. Carnahan (Democrat) was elected to Congress three weeks after his death in a plane crash! Carnahan became the first U.S. Senator elected posthumously. Despite having never held public office, his widow, Jean Carnahan, was given the seat, becoming the first woman Senator from Missouri.
Well technically votes aren’t cast for Joe butfor Democrat electoral college candidates that are pledged to vote for Joe.
So the electoral college electors become free to vote for Joe’s replacement or whoever they want.
I agree. In a year he might be, but for now - and with the right medications - he can last until November.
Trump automatically wins
Correct. You vote for person not party. Of course, in this day and age the riots will continue but at a more alarming rate.
He appeared very fatigued yesterday. Just my impression.
At this point he cannot be replaced on the ballots. At least in most states. What they can do is kind of nominate replacement (probably Harris for president and ?? for vice president) and run campaign theme “vote for Biden is actually vote for Harris”. That has ample precedent - There had been dead people running and sometimes winning. But it would really be a mess. Especially since he is still alive - all the media, campaigns, public relations, operators, Chinese trolls etc. would had to admit that there were pushing a zombie!
Found this, when I did a search.....
If a candidate dies before the general election but after they’ve secured their party’s nomination, it’s a relatively simple fix: The deceased candidate’s party picks a replacement (who may or may not be the vice presidential candidate from the ticket), and that replacement is on the ballot on Election Day.
“Can you say stroke?”
He has already had two brain aneurysms, both requiring surgery.
