Jimi Hendrix the greatest guitarist? Santana might disagree.

Jimi Hendrix the greatest guitarist? Santana might disagree.I think "Jimi Hendrix is the greatest guitarist" is just something you're supposed to say. Though he was very good, in my mind he clearly wasn't the greatest.

You spelled Stevie Ray Vaughan wrong.

Carlos said it best, "In one hand is heroin, in the other is spirituality, I chose spirituality" That says it all and Jimi was a far better guitarist!♫

...Jimi Hendrix the greatest guitarist?
I was always partial to Mason Williams (Classical Gas)

Hmm... Santana was always overrated. Now Jeff Beck might something to say about it.

Can Carlos play the guitar with his teeth? :)

Jimi Hendrix said Terry Kath was the best he’d ever seen.

I always thought his playing sucked. None of his music was any good; just noise. He came out after I had graduated high school and gone to VN.
And I became a big fan of Santana while there AND served with one of Santana’s guitarists. He taught me how to play the music from their first album.

“Santana might disagree”
I saw Carlos at least three times late 70’s to mid 80’s. He was fine, nice solos aided by a couple pound block of brass buried into his Yamaha guitar that his tail bridge was locked into. That’s how he got his sustain. He wasn’t good as a rhythm guitarist until later in his career. (Early on he didn’t know chords)
Never saw Jimi, but have a lot of recordings.
