The Big Ten will kick off its football season the weekend of Oct. 24 after the league's presidents and chancellors unanimously voted to resume competition, citing daily testing capabilities and a stronger confidence in the latest medical information, the conference announced Wednesday morning.
Each team will attempt to play eight games in eight weeks, leaving no wiggle room during the coronavirus pandemic before the Big Ten championship game on Dec. 19. That date will also feature an extra cross-division game for each school, with seeded teams in each division squaring off.
The Big Ten would complete its season before the Dec. 20 Selection Day for the College Football Playoff.

Gretchen Whitmer wanted absolutely no part of this. Let’s see if she’s stupid enough to try and monkeywrench it.
According to Wikipedia, baseball is the only major sport where Rutgers isn’t a member of the Big14 conference.
Nebraska players dropped a lawsuit.
The lawsuits would’ve been cake compared to the six figure boosters who were telling the school to f-off. As much as i would’ve loved to see the schools get their ass beat in court, i don’t see how they would’ve.
BTW- i am in the football business and can tell you the underlying reason for postponing the season was fear of lawsuits 2/5/10 years down the road from an athlete who developed a condition stemming from catching the chinese flu while playing fall sports at their respective school.
ACC teams can be at 5 wins before the Big Ten takes it’s first snap this season.

bottom line is this- the Big 10 went about this the wrong way and pissed off a lot of people.
Very true..
How many teams in the Big TEN???
That is part of the College problem....
Administrators etal don’t know how to count any more and present a Fauxi Front.
FOLLOW THE MONEY
The is big. Big 10 +1 +1 +1 +1 =14. Realignment could not kill the Big Ten.
1) expect the PAC 12 to announce within a week their season will start the end of October.
2) the Mountain West is furiously trying to piece together a season this fall.
3) the MAC is the only IA conference that’s not mentioned returning soon.
Bottom line?? like the chinese flu itself, this was one big hoax...
