The Big Ten will kick off its football season the weekend of Oct. 24 after the league's presidents and chancellors unanimously voted to resume competition, citing daily testing capabilities and a stronger confidence in the latest medical information, the conference announced Wednesday morning.
Each team will attempt to play eight games in eight weeks, leaving no wiggle room during the coronavirus pandemic before the Big Ten championship game on Dec. 19. That date will also feature an extra cross-division game for each school, with seeded teams in each division squaring off.
The Big Ten would complete its season before the Dec. 20 Selection Day for the College Football Playoff.

Love him for that, and I thank him for doing what he could to see that ALL big ten fans and players could have a season this year. Kudos.
This is helpful to President Trump in several Midwestern battleground states that are tight. He’s the guy who saved their seasons when the Democrat establishment wanted to kill their season and watch everybody else but them get to play.
Trump also want to open their economies back up. Its the Democrats who once again, are forcing the shutdown.
Has ESPN praised Donald Trump? That would be a bigger shocker than Northwestern beating Ohio State.
The big loser is the Pac-12 who now looks like they’ll be out of the playoff mix - again. And they can’t vote to play in the fall because nine of the schools are in states with the compact not to lift the COVID lockdown until California, Oregon and Washington agree to lift them which they won’t do because they want to harm Trump.
Plenty of Democrat governors in Big 10 country but they’re not as brain-dead as the West Coast ones. Even Whitmer knows better than to get between Michigan fans and the Big House.
