These kind of people are inherently incompetent. They’ll find out their ideas are nothing but ideas, no substance. They couldn’t even run a grocery store, let alone a country.

“These kind of people are inherently incompetent. They’ll find out their ideas are nothing but ideas, no substance. They couldn’t even run a grocery store, let alone a country.”

Hillary Clinton gushed in an interview, “Some of my best ideas are inarticulable.” What she was experiencing were pleasant (to her) daydreams. You don’t need to deal with facts or physics when you daydream.

People who want to change the world are daydreamers. If they bothered with knowledge and thought they would quickly realize they are dispensable and the world will do as well or better without them. Those daydreamers who want to seize control and run things according to their dreams will only take a functioning society and reorder it to the point it is nonfunctional. A former Soviet citizen told me, “One year they left matches off the big list of things the state would make. Suddenly on street corners there were men standing at all hours with a homemade brazier and tongs. For two kopeks they would light your cigarette.”
