An unidentified flying object in the skies of New Jersey Monday had residents believing aliens were about to beam down to the Garden State until it was actually identified — as a Goodyear Blimp.
Twitter video of the “New Jersey UFO sighting” racked up more than 555,000 views.
But naysayers were quick to debunk the extraterrestrial sighting — noting that it was nothing more than the Goodyear Blimp flying overhead near MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, where the New York Giants lost 26-16 to the Pittsburgh Steelers Monday night in the season opener.

Goodyear uses UFOs as blimps?
Now it’s an IFO.
My wife drove into work years ago. Early morning, foggy. Peering through the fog she watched as their was a castle floating in the clouds. She watched it until she drove past.
She figured she was going nuts and didn’t say anything. A co-worker later in the day said “Yeah - I saw Forbes’ hot air balloon coming into work.” My wife asked how did they know it was Forbes’.
“It’s shaped like a castle!”
I’ll tell you back in the early 1980s I thought sure I saw a UFO. I stared and stared at it trying to discredit my eyes. Cigar shaped with scrolling lights along the side. I really did think for a few minutes I was seeing my first flying saucer until it got close enough to see that the whole side of the blimp was a scrolling advertisement.
That’s exactly what I saw only with scrolling lights on the whole side. Scared the heck out of me until it got close enough for me to see the lights were displaying scrolling text. Advertisement
Was it wearing a MAGA hat?
I suspect what caused confusion is on that day the overcast sky was grey and it matched the color of the blimp causing the shape of the blimp to blend into the sky.
The result was the real shape of the blimp was obscured.
You can clearly see the moving text.
On a side note, why is it difficult for people to hold a camera steady?
I don’t allow myself to get worked up about UFOs anymore.
Until the occupants of these air craft are ready to stop playing Peek a Boo, Hide & Seek or Frozen Tag with the world’s military, I will assume they want to keep a low profile and don’t plan to rock the boats on planet Earth.
You guys (Martians, etc..) know where to find our leader.

I did not know UFO’s had names written on them.
They are lying. It wasn’t a blimp.
Goodyear doesn’t have any blimps these days. They got rid of the last one in 2017.
It’s a Zepplin, specifically an LZ N07 From ZLT Zeppelin Luftschifftechnik. (The Hindinburg was LZ 129).
The Goodyear blimp routinely cruises Sunset Blvd in the skies. It’s hard to mis-identify.
What, Jerry Nadler ate too much and swelled up with gas to look and act like a blimp? Say it isn’t so, or shoot the damned thing down.
