Incorrect.

Under the Articles of Confederation, state legislatures could recall and replace a congressman. Under the Constitution, the terms of senators were fixed at 6 years. The only way a senator could be removed is through death, resignation or expulsion by a two thirds vote of the Senate. The 17th Amendment didn't change this.
