You may or may not care for Jackson Pollock’s work, or you may think it’s overrated, but his first drip paintings are nevertheless significant pieces in the history of art. The Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse owns the second drip painting Pollock ever completed—Red Composition (1946)—but it announced last weekend that it would sell it in order to fund its “anti-racist policies and programming”:

I wrote a paper on a black painter in high school, Ad Reinhart.

Here is a sample of his work:

The Woke folk started tossing out the White writers a while back (not out of the library—yet—but out of the classroom).

How ironic. They’re selling a piece of garbage art to fund their garbage re-education effort. Garbage out, garbage in.

The Good Times painting is superior to anything Jackson Pollack ever did.

Is that second one a cave painting from 25,000 years ago?

They’re going to keep this up until there is actual racism in places it never was. I don’t see how this ends well.

As has been said a lot recently, "the issue ain't the issue...the issue is revolution"(the Marxist revolution).

Race is being used to whip up rioters and looters and arsonists. When Marxists say there is "systemic racism," all they're really saying is "let's get rid of the system."

Had it made up for me at a really nice shop that laminates prints. They did an excellent job and it wasn't expensive.

Much better than a print framed in glass.

I remember those black sitcoms from the 1970s. In addition to "Good Times", they had "The Jeffersons", "What's Happening", "Diff'rent Strokes" and "Sanford & Son". I'm sure there were others I'm missing. They were mostly dopey (like all other sitcoms of that or any era) but generally were uplifting and showed blacks moving up in the world.

Well maybe not so much "Sanford & Son". But that show was more of a vehicle for Redd Foxx's comedy act.

Point is, none of those shows would ever be able to be put on the air today as the Left would scream that they were "reinforcing stereotypes", "demeaning to blacks" or some other nonsense like that.

LOL, Redd Foxx's comedy act was nothing like Sanford & Sun, he worked as blue as Richard Pryor.

That is certainly true, but back then, he had to water that act down for TV. No cable in those days and the FCC still had strict guidelines to maintain.

That happened at college campuses in the 90s.

“Dead white males” they called Shakespeare and others

Jackson Pollock was a married straight white guy who died in a car crash at age 44.

His artwork therefore must be purged. Strange to look at, though.

I once thought an art exhibit was a good place to meet chicks. But the ones I saw all had crazy eyes.

It’s mostly in-your-face shock art anymore. Desecrated American flags are a favorite theme.

Well maybe not so much "Sanford & Son".

Fred G. Sanford was an entrepreneur who never took a dime of government money. He was always looking for a way to get up the next rung. The closest thing he got to a scam was when he wanted to register as a church for a tax dodge. (Frankly, I don't know why he needed a tax dodge, his business was almost all cash in the '70s. Heck he could have volunteered his business as a money laundering operation if some of Rollo s shady friends got an idea.)

**Here’s the painting in question:**

I don’t think that can hold a candle to the cave art. (heh)
