House Seat NY-11: HowDid This Happen?

Posted on 09/15/2020 7:03:39 AM PDT by DIRTYSECRET

Staten Island. Trump wins by 10 and Max Rose wins my 6 two years later. Earlier redistricting might have had something to do with it but Trump won. Our guys gotta show up because Rose is a whack job who served in uniform. Good recruitment, something we could learn.

The 11th has historically been the most conservative district in New York City. For most of the time since the 1990s, it has been the only Republican-held district in the city where Republicans usually do well.(from Wikipedia)

So tell me: Is it us(voters) or recruitment?

Dan Donovan’s showing was terrible in 2018. He also faced a grudge match in the primary with the former Congressman Michael Grimm, who went to prison. I can’t think that helped, though he still should’ve won reelection in a 55% Trump district. This had happened before in a bad GOP year of 2008 when Vito Fosella got out and was replaced with an extraordinarily weak ex-Assemblyman named Robert Straniere. Straniere got an astonishingly horrid 33%(!) against Dem Michael McMahon’s 61%. McMahon didn’t survive the 2010 GOP landslide and Grimm took the seat back 51-48%.

This time the seat has a highly regarded candidate in Nicole Malliotakis, and against the flaky and endangered Max Rose, who voted with the coup plotters, she should take this seat back.

Perhaps States Island was heavy Trump not necessarily because he had an R after his name, but for who he was/is being so well known in NY for years, as well as his USA first message. Arguably, previous R candidates (W, McCAIN, Romney), talked a good story, but their actions differed. Trump, for all his exposure to NY politics and non-political experience, actions are much more conservative, especially in the areas of Pro-life and 2A. Could just be who he is vs party, and perhaps States Island is more reflective of that?

Max Rose is a Brooklyn Joo. That Helps. Nichole What’s-her-name is 39 y.o. and could be considered a looker if she keeps her weight down. Those things count-sorry.

Btw-tomorrow it’s Ok-5.

Quislings in uniform was indeed a winning Democrat tactic in 2018.

Exhibit A being Conor Lamb here in Western PA. Basically re-running his prior campaign now that makes him look like a Republican and touts his “independent streak”.

He voted with Pelosi 100% of the time. Real independent.

I think Lamb is safe. Not amongst my 17 must-wins.

So, which of the past two election is the harbinger of this year’s election? 2016 or 2018?

That’s why I’m writing this series. Mid term blahs hurt both parties when they’re in the WH. There’s no excuse for not showing up.

to be a Congressman anymore. He did not have the courage and rectitude to run hard and win then resign so he just phoned it in. In the meanwhile the left was hungering after the New York State Senate which had been run by Republican since the Indians owned Manhattan. The Republican run Senate always protected Cuomo sr and little Andy. They could support the must disgusting laws - like making NAMBLA a sanctioned and government financially supported high school club with pedophile teachers as moderators. They NEVER had to worry about these things actually happening because they KNEW the State Senate would kill bills like that. Well the left pushed hard and got the State Senate seat that covered a a sizable part of the 11th District and won it by a big enough number to overcome the 2/3 of the district in Staten Island and ugly communist creep maxie rose won. He had to move to the district after he won BTW.
The Republican primary against Mikey Suits the jail bird and Guy’s “son” did some damage but Danny just didn’t want it. He had/has personal problems we can put aside. But Nicolre will beat maxie who is roundly disliked on the Island and Democrat enthusiasm is way down. I will be personally doing my own sandwich board campaign tying maxie to Pelosi and Biden so any islander who wants to join me can reach me at Freepmail. It’s fun and you would be very surprised at how effective it is. See you on the corner of New Dorp and Hylan.
