“Video of the other side acting badly is even more valuable than the signs.”

People have been seeing “the other side acting badly”, e.g., murdering people, burning cities, destroying entire stores. I doubt if posting video of a sign being stolen will catch anybody’s attention.

I think inflicting immense pain in some way is the only way to go.

I would try something like attaching a motion sensing alarm to them, and wait for the reaction.

That’s how we caught our feral cats. It works.

Punji sticks are illegal, so don't do this.

That’s funny. Some talented people could set that video to dance music like the dancing burning man.

LOL. Thanks, Everybody. I needed a good laugh this afternoon.

I should ask my better half (retired electrician) if it’s possible to electrify the sign. He just said it’s illegal with 110V, but you could use 12V - a battery, without much zap, just a little scare. Not good enough.

Spray signs with TANGLE FEET TANGLE TRAP spray

I bought mine on amazon. Hilarious to watch when stealers grab sign, then realize it is stuck to their hands.

And feces can cause fatal infections, so don’t coat the punji sticks with that.

“Pepper spray on the type sign you press into ground. Spray along the plastic edge. If it rains? Re-apply. I use FOX Lab spray. As do many PDs. Hot as hell.”

1. Post several “no trespassing” signs at the perimeter of your yard.

2. Put motion-activated, high-def, wide-angle cameras up around the yard to catch people crossing the property line, and stealing the signs.

3. Put not just the pepper spray on the signs, but also itching powder. Make them itch all over - particularly their eyes - and have to rub their pepper-laden fingers all over the place. Make sure that you bought the pepper spray liquid and itching powder for cash, and not locally.

4. Call the police as soon as you know that someone has stolen the sign(s) and trespassed, and tell them that you have video evidence and want to prosecute. Then post the video on line everywhere that you can, and make sure that the local and state Republicans get a copy.

Don’t post signs just vote Trump.

I read the headline, and I thought it was stealing pitching signs. (Houston, Red Sox, etc.)

“Pepper spray on the type sign you press into ground. Spray along the plastic edge. If it rains? Re-apply. I use FOX Lab spray. As do many PDs. Hot as hell.”

“Liberally coat the back of them with thick automotive / marine grease. I’ve worked with some black stuff that was weatherproof and very difficult to get off of your hands and clothing.”

i like those two ideas best ... but the two can be combined: get a pint bottle of inexpensive Cayenne pepper from Costco or the like, and mix it with a really nasty grease augmented with some nasty cutting oil ...

it worked really good when squirrels kept gnawing through the dumpoff line that runs from my rooftop evaporative cooler down the roof to spill over the side of the gutter ... prior to that, there was a whole squirrel convention gallivanting all over the roof in the early morning, but afterwards the squirrels abandoned my roof completely and never came back ...

i figure if that concoction is good enough to discourage squirrels, it could discourage sign thieves too ...

(poison ivy/oak extract should also work well ... get a bunch of the leaves and stems and macerate them in a small amount of vegetable oil and let sit a week ... btw, this is an extremely dangerous thing to do without proper disposable protective gear AND zen-like attention to decontamination without touching anything that isn’t disposed of ... everything that is used to make and apply this stuff should also be disposed)

Bird repellant. Transparent. Comes in a tube like caulk. Real nasty, sticky stuff. Birds HATE it. Harmless to them, but keeps them from sitting on power lines and messing all over driveway. Car. etc.

I suspect the sign will stick to people for some time. May be extra enjoyment to add ground ghost peppers or habanero to the mix. LOL! Make 'em shake like Hillary!

Don't wast your time, effort and money putting up signs, nobody cares. Your neighbors are going to vote for Trump whether you put up a yard sign or not and will likely understand why you don't put one up.........

With that being said, I have a trail camera and if I was experiencing your problem, I would set the camera up in a secluded spot where I could capture the individuals as well as their license plates then exact my own justice after finding where they live......
