4 minutes is good
2 minutes is excellent
Under 90 seconds is superior
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, youll be solving them all within a few days. If youre stumped, take a break and return to it.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!
I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hals Helper below.
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.

One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please dont put the actual words of the quote in the clue. Solution to our last puzzle. Simply scroll your cursor over the text while left clicking your mouse, and the words should appear.
GOOD PUBLICITY IS PREFERABLE TO BAD, BUT FROM A BOTTOM-LINE PERSPECTIVE, BAD PUBLICITY IS SOMETIMES BETTER THAN NO PUBLICITY AT ALL. ---TRUMP
Thanks for the early morning puzzle, Nikos!
I got this one in 3 minutes before coffee. I guessed at the first word and knew the third word and went from there.
Words one and three.
Agreed, this one is pretty straightforward. Although, those of us lacking in the attribute SGVGQ GW FIDAQ MJAL are “HRXUD”-d by that deficiency nowadays.
Superior! Lucky guess on the first word and WHOOSH! ;)
Words 5, 8, and 18
24 unique letters - The missing letters in the solution are X and Z.
There was one the other day that had 25 unique letters. Z was missing.
I’d like to see a cryptoquote without the letter “E”. That would be a challenge.

Remember all the ‘Great’ singers of the 40s, 50s etc a lot had ‘voweled’ names and had to drop a few of them just to survive...Frank Sinatra had blue eyes etc etc
It is easy for an Italian to drop a vowel or two, a Jew to change an e for an a etc but when you are ‘Dark’ there isn’t a whole lot you can change so as to be able to ‘blend in’.
Even ‘Blazing Saddles’ finally accepted ALL but the Irish, guess someone ‘has’ to be in the bottom of the barrel.
First and third word — and it was a breeze.
