The 1984 version wasn’t nearly as bad as the SyFy Channel’s abomination of a few years ago................
SyFy really tried. There was some good acting, I thought, but not an overall vision or enough care with the special effects.
The best science fiction never forgets that people are people, and will still have the same emotions and motivations 10K or 40K years in the future.
