How many Irish indentured servants were used in America? Where are the reparations for the descendants of the Irish servants?
Great question.
I apparently had Irish, Scots, Wales and everyday UK blokes who came here as indentured servants.
Are you asking about the family jewels?
What if black Africans had never sought to capture their rival clans and sell them into slavery?
what if no one bought the captives from the black Africans that captured rival clans and tried to sell them into slavery? If no one buys your product, one generally gets out of the business of trying to sell that product.
Had there been no buyers, no one would have had to start a Civil War to end slavery in this country.
it's not my past.
The word 'our' is itself racist.
The World encourages attachment to identity. One can not enter Heaven with one, but one does not have to be dead.
My point is that identity, ANY identity ... is precisely the very most basic cognitive lie that traps people not just into warring groups, but in fact pits one against the universe itself.
Also, any identity is an illusion. It's a convenient handle, but to believe it's real is a big mistake.
Walter E. Williams made exactly that same point Yesterday.
They have.
They probably revolted and took over the continent.

Walter is brilliant and worth listening too...
I’m a monkey on the internet banging my keyboard with my fist.
I get one right every now and then.
What if God had said “Screw this crap, I really screwed this up” and cancelled everything?
Kudos on your family getting out of those horrible conditions and become free here.
WRT the minimum wage, it never was intended to be able to live on it, it was a starter wage for unskilled and inexperienced people. Believe me, if they were worth more they would be paid more so that they wouldn’t leave Employer #1 and go to Employer #2. The problem with feeling badly about people trying to live on that wage and then boosting it higher is that you then price a lot of unskilled and inexperienced workers out of the job market. So if $9/hour is the minimum and you boost it to $15 overnight, what happens is that places like McDonalds will buy machines that can replace workers - machines that don’t complain, don’t feed their friends for free, don’t get sick, don’t ask for raises, don’t get retirement pay, etc., etc. See Seattle for the example of this happening. Misplaced compassion is the cause of immense misery.
Not going to read the entire thread, but I’m sure someone has already said read “Farnum’s Freehold” by Robert Heinlein. Rinse, repeat
They were.
But there were buyers, and the British colony of what eventually became the U.S. was only one of many areas that purchased them.. Slavery had been in practice for centuries. But if black Africans had not provided the bodies, there would have been no buyers. No the problem started with black Africans, at least as far as black African slaves is concerned.
You have it backwards,
The African kings SOLD slaves to raise funds to pay and equip their slave-catching armies.
>>>If white Americans were sold as slaves to Africans they could have taught the Africans to build seafaring ships and the wheel<<<
In exchange, the Black Africans would have taught the White Americans how to make a Lightbulb, according to Joementia Biden.
What then?
So black Africans are responsible for slavery.
The thousands of ships built for the slave trade, crewed and officered by white Christians had nothing to do with the slave trade. The white Christian bankers and financiers that funded the slave voyages and underwrote the purchase of millions of slaves had nothing to do with the slave trade. The hundreds of white Christian plantation owners in Brazil, the islands of the Caribbean and the British North American colonies had nothing to do with the slave trade. Only the Africans were responsible for the slave trade. Got it.
Maybe if there were no buyers, or profiteers, their would have not been manyy sellers.
