I got up to 45 mph on a bicycle once. The front forks were vibrating like crazy. It was a little scary, but exhilarating at the same time.

I did that as well when I was 13, going down a steep hill. I wrecked in the ditch and bent my front wheel and twisted the forks. To this day I don’t know what caused me to go off into the ditch since it was a paved street and clear road. It just happened and I damn near broke my leg in the process. It hurt like a bitch for weeks, but I never told anybody, I just limped a little and kept my mouth shut..........

I have seen 40mph on a straight, clean, smooth down grade; did not like it!

Our son was doing a coast-to-coast pulling MY TRAILER somewhere in the Rockies he exceeded 50 MPH! On his GPS.

Over 3K miles 28 days and two partial rest days along the way at friends’ homes.
He dropped the trailer here in DuPage County to pick up the pace en route to DC.
