Favorite John McKay(NFL days) quote:
When asked about his teams execution:
Im in favor of it.
bump for later so I can find when the season starts.
Thanks for posting! What a great way to start the day with some humor.
Years ago, Texas Tech University football program was on the deep end of losing. Maybe TCU was worse, and they always seemed to beat Tech; and Tech seemed to be able to beat the Aggies.
The “wisdom” out there was: “If you want to go to a good university that doesn’t have college football, go to Texas Tech.”
Eventually coaches Spike Dykes and Mike Leach came along and got them some wins.
I’ll take smartball over muscle ball any day
My favorite Paul Bryant (AKA: Bear) saying.= “Alabama players need only to be 3 things: HOSTILE, MOBILE & VIRILE”.

Some great names on that list.

I wish the NFL would ask itself this question and do two things: 1) Ditch a lot of the lame, modern rules that have turned the game into glorified flag-football, and 2) Stop the political statements by players and coaches.
I could throw in an anecdote whose punchline is “Because nine hundred and ninety nine are not enough.”, but I won’t do that now because it’s a moot point.
I’m taking the season off. I’m gonna miss it, but I’m gonna have other stuff to do.
Here’s a couple of old ones from my part of the world.
What does the “N” on the side of Nebraka’s helmet’s stand for? Knowledge
What do Tom Osborne and Billy Graham have in common? They are the only two men in America who can make 76,000 people stand up and yell “Jesus Christ” at the same time.
Why does Tom Osborne eat his cereal on a plate? Because if he put’s it in a bowl he will lose it.
Why do all the trees in Kansas lean south? Because Oklahoma sucks.
