As promised when the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced its Academy Aperture 2025 initiative in June, new standards of representation and inclusion have been announced by AMPAS today that will gradually be put in place for the 94th (2022) and 95th (2023) Oscars, but in full effect beginning with the 96th Academy Awards in 2024. In its most dramatic swing towards true diversity, Oscar is laying down significant requirements in order to be eligible for Hollywoods most sought after prize: Best Picture.
Having at least one Asian, Hispanic/Latinx, Black/African American, Indigenous/Native American/Alaskan Native, Middle Eastern/North African, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander or unspecified other underrepresented race or ethnicity as a lead or significant supporting actor is a potential requirement under the new guidelines, with those ethnicities also mentioned for prominent production and marketing jobs. Additionally employing women, LGBTQ+, members of a Racial or Ethnic group, and people with cognitive or physical disabilities or who are deaf or hard of hearing may be required for at least 30% of actors in secondary and more minor roles, having a storyline centered on an underrepresented group, hiring creative leadership and department heads, maintaining least 30% crew composition, paid internships, and representation in marketing and distribution are also all potential areas in order to be a Best Picture contender. Producers dont have to meet all of the requirements of the new doctrine, just half.

You would have fit in better in "Dances with Wolves".
Nope. Couldn't speak Sioux.
Then why are you going to be in Das Boot?

“underrepresented race or ethnicity”
These days that is white
Lol
Judge by the color of skin, not the content of your character. That talk was a big scam, huh?
So, discrimination is now mandatory.
The advertising industry has taken these guidelines to heart. It's all you see in commercials nowadays. The most common new group claiming a lot of commercial presence is the white geek married to the savvy black woman.
Fellow frogs, before its too late, we should do something....
I think the older movies on Amazon et al will suddenly become wildly popular. There is a new drive-in theatre opening up near Baltimore, but the movies slated to be shown look DULL, BORING, and nothing I’d pay money to see.
Will a remake of Jurassic Park feature black, brown, and yellow dinosaurs?
I would love to remake Roots with the cast race reversed. I’d love to see whites getting punished by mean black owners.
Typical liberal insanity.
LBJGxyg is not a race or ethnicity. It’s a life choice. And I didn’t see anything about mandatory quotas for heterosexual Christian nuclear families.
The word I.
Race based tv shows and movies.
That is as racist as it can get.
Talent not needed, just the ‘correct’ type.
I think its awesome. Maybe some of these insufferable high and mighty PC actors and actresses will get knocked out of a role and replaced by an affirmative action diverse and inclusive replacement. That would be a sweet comeuppance for them, maybe they will finally stop running their mouth on every idiotic new perverse idea out there.
Oh Jeez...
White kids need not apply. ( except for REAL JOBS THAT REQUIRE MERIT )
its now official: only pics that conform to “diversity” are allowed to be nominated, which means that all pics must conform to diversity ... these people are insane given that theaters are closed and going bankrupt and movie production is completely shutdown ... now theyre forcing future pics to conform with diversity as the goal rather than entertainment as the goal at the worst time possible in terms of attracting audiences ... also looks like only a tiny sliver of all possible stories are now possible to be made into movies .... and they didnt need a Soviet Politburo to order this conformity of the diverse: they did it to themselves ...
