This is terrible and senseless. I don’t know the specifics but very bad judgement here.

I’ve seen worse. Here in town we have a massive mountain next door. People are rescued about once a week even in the summer, idiots constantly try to hike it in flip flops. There’s bad judgement per above and pure idiocy. Flip flops are pure idiocy.

I was at the Keyhole on the route up to the top of Long's Peak (> 14,000 Ft). I was passed by a couple of guys wearing T-shirts, shorts, and tennis shoes.

But they were from Michigan, so their hubris made perfect sense to me.

Three Canadian college students hit the trail about the same time we did for s fifty mile backpack trek.

One had flip flops. Moron.
