Hundreds of people flocked to a German church Saturday to hear an organ change chords for the first time in nearly seven years.
The experimental piece, which consists of eight pages of music meant to be played very slowly, is intended to last for an entirety of 639 years -- meaning it will end in 2640 if all goes according to plan.
The organ had been playing the same chord for six years and 11 months before Saturday's chord change
Best known for a composition called 4'33" -- which is just four minutes and 33 seconds of silence -- Cage wrote Organ/ASLSP in the 1980s.

“Put simply, for Cage, music was music and mushrooms were mushrooms. “
Wasn’t music. Was artistic wankery

World's laziest composer. Worlds stupidest fans and supporters not to mention church board who supported tying up the use of their parishioners organ essentially doing nothing for 600 years . . . on the ego centric idiocy of a talentless narcissistic conman. Its the "emperor has no clothes" written in supposed artistic expression as this conman shows how vapid these elites really are. . . He did it before when with 433. . . and no one dared call him out because none of them wanted to be thought of as not getting it.
Now hes got hundreds of idiots, supporters, coming out to hear a change of one organ chord droning to another chord droning, and none will stand up and pull the plug to cry "This is not music! Its merely noise with no purpose except to hoodwink fools and idiots!"

I've got a CD of John Cage around here somewhere. [and now the punchline] I started playing it when I bought it 20 years ago, and it still hasn't ended. I heard about Cage from a friend so I ordered an album of his music from Amazon . . . I came home from work to find it had been delivered in 47 double semi-trucks loads and was piled around my house.

He should have nade 4 33 longer.
Sergio Leone in his movie Once upon a time in the West used everyday sounds like a squeaking windmill and water drops on a surface as his musical score in the opening scene of the movie. There is something to silence and the ambient sounds, and songs derived from everyday sounds....
So insightful, guys...OK, now move those burgers and fries.

Best known for a composition called 4'33" -- which is just four minutes and 33 seconds of silence -- I thought of having a flash mob get together to publicly perform this. But then I checked Youtube and saw that it has been done multiple times already.

I hear John Cage is negotiating with the Joe Biden Campaign to license 433” as Joes campaign Anthem. . . and Organ/ASLP as background for Biden for President Rallies and Speeches. Perfect for energizing the crowds. . . when they get larger than four . . .

Cage was a source of inspiration for Phil Lesh and Jerry Garcia of The Grateful Dead. I'd liked the Dead. I didn't really get Cage though.
