Not for nothing, but this couple sounds like they werent very bright. Who buys a $3,000 RAV4 online and DOESN’T immediately assume its a stolen vehicle?

Even this didn’t make them suspicious?
Brown told investigators he drove to meet Joe at the mall but when they arrived he told the couple he had accidentally brought the wrong car title and asked them to follow him across town to an apartment on East Cornell Circle.
Let alone the time of night, very stupid.

Especially a 2017 that’s about 3 years old. Nearly new vehicle like that should fetch a lot more than $3,000.

A used one from 1997 - 2003 would go for that price.

What year? The articles didn’t say. RAV4 has been in production since 1996 so $3,000 for an older one isn’t out of the question.

Who buys a $3,000 RAV4 online and DOESNT immediately assume its a stolen vehicle?IIRC, there was a big hail storm in the Denver area in 2017, that damaged thousands of vehicles. Some owners pocketed the insurance money, rather than use it to repair the vehicle - as a result, there were (and probably still are) hail damaged vehicles for sale all over town, some at very low prices...
