Joseph and Jossline Roland, 39 and 40, were shot in Aurora on August 14
The couple were killed at a phony car sale that was arranged on letgo's website
Kyree Brown, 18, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder
Brown allegedly stole a Toyota RAV4 and posted an ad for it on the
website
Joe responded to the ad and arranged to meet Brown with his wife to buy the car
The couple were carrying $3,000 in cash when Brown allegedly shot them dead
He took the money and fled before trying to burn the stolen car A funeral service was held Monday for the couple who leave behind 5 children
The two cars parked up at the address and Brown got out of his car and went to the driver's side window of the Roland's vehicle, the affidavit states.
Brown told authorities he pointed a 9mm handgun at Joe while the couple were still in their car and demanded the money.
Brown said Joe grabbed his arm and the car started moving, the affidavit states.
The suspect intentionally shot Joe before accidentally shooting Jossline, the arrest affidavit claims.
Brown then allegedly grabbed the $3,000 cash from the car dashboard, jumped back in the stolen vehicle and fled the scene.
He then tried to burn the car by pouring gasoline on the seats and setting it alight, authorities said.
Emergency services responded to reports of a shooting just before midnight and the Rolands were rushed to hospital.
The couple died within five minutes of each other, CBS Denver reported.
Police tracked down Brown by finding the letgo listing on Joe's cellphone.
Brown had used a fake name but used a Gmail account that detectives were able to link him

I have never heard of a white youth committing armed robbery and murder of a black couple. Never. It never happens.

Even a lot of the blacks you think you know and trust will put you under a bus in a hurry. So many will put race before God, family and friends, and country. Sad but true.
You’re right. It is a shame for the blacks that try to do things the right way. They are hurt much by the black violence than anyone else because they may get profiled. But we all have to do what we have to do. If we see an area with a lot of blacks, it’s best to avoid it.

What year? The articles didn’t say. RAV4 has been in production since 1996 so $3,000 for an older one isn’t out of the question.

This is a horrible terrible story that I don’t see how the media can bury
even though it’s a 17-year-old black perp. Over 3000$.

The is an incredibly horrible crime - it isn’t just that two innocents were robbed and murdered, but now their 5 children have been orphaned. Additionally, if they were buying a used car for $3,000, it suggests to me that they didn’t have a lot of means (and having 5 kids is expensive), so the likelihood of this couple having had any life insurance, let alone adequate insurance to finish raising those poor kids, is pretty small...meaning that unless a big GoFundMe can be put together, or some family is well-to-do, or some incredibly generous Good Samaritan comes along, those kids are going to end up as wards of the state, and possibly split up.
BUUUUUUUT,
I couldn’t help but look at this sentence and shake my head:

I don’t know about any of you, but I am simply not going to meet someone whom I’ve never met before with $3,000 of cash at some time close to midnight - even if I’m armed and the person with me is armed. That’s not just something that I think is very smart. I’m certainly NOT blaming the victims here - but this was avoidable, and I hope that everyone reading this puts that in mind if they are ever going to engage in a transaction like this. Meet during the day, and meet in a VERY public place. Perhaps do NOT transact business for cash above some amount ($500? $1,000?).
May God have mercy on this couple’s children, because they’re going to need it. I cannot even fathom what they’re going through, or what they will be going through for many years to come.
