I am 82 and live in an urban area where the state rate is over 600 per million. I wear my mask whenever I am going to be near other people—at stores, on the street, etc. It really upsets me to see all the younger people who are not wearing masks. Usually more black young people than white ones are wearing masks. So far my health is fine, and I am taking an array of vitamins and minerals to keep my resistance up. I think the people who get really sick and/or die are probably suffering from subclinical nutrition deficiencies, as are most people with co-morbidities. If we want to lower our national medicare costs, we should all be finding out more about good nutrition, supplements, and what we could take to up our resistance. Dark skin people should definitely be taking 2000 to 5000 IU of Vitamin D3 unless they are spending a lot of time out in the sun in mild weather. If you suddenly stop smelling and tasting you should immediately start taking 50 to 225 mg. of zinc tablets. If you have allergies and nasal congestion, you should take more Vitamin C 3 or 4 times a day to strengthen your lungs and mucous membranes. Old copies of Adelle Davis’ book “Let’s Eat Right to Keep Fit” can still be found on line. She also wrote several more specialized books on good nutrition and use of supplements medicinally.
