U.S. Reaches Grave Coronavirus Milestone: Crickets.

In the early phase of the Wuhan Coronavirus pandemic - in defiance of international health officials (WHO) - it became clear that not all countries would implement the draconian lockdowns imposed by governments in China, Europe, most U.S. states and most of the rest of the world. Sweden was one of those countries, having refused to restrict its population with stay-at-home orders, shuttering restaurants & schools or mandating compulsory mitigation measures such as social distancing. Rather, the Swedish government refused to mandate masks or other mandates for its citizens, putting the onus of responsibility upon individuals & businesses (“trust-based”): Schools, restaurants, mass-transit all operated normally. Sanitation, hygiene and general heightened awareness were recommended, particularly against going out if you’re sick.

Common-sense approach, right?

Wrong, according to most of the world’s press and epidemiologists in April & May. The drumbeat of media propaganda and proclamations from national health officials warned that Sweden “was faring far worse than its neighbors” by failing to implement harsh, compulsory - even punitive - government-mandated controls (i.e., strict limits upon citizens’ lives), citing vastly-greater deaths in Sweden as compared to surrounding Nordic countries and labeling its “soft,” controversial “herd immunity” approach as “calamitous,” a “deadly folly,” “stubborn” & “irresponsible.” Furthermore, countries implementing lockdowns promoted the actions by guilting the population into compliance (particularly in the U.S.), i.e. “masking is the responsible thing to do for others”, “out of respect for others”, to “protect other from you” and “failing to comply is like a death sentence to those at-risk.” Such proclamations were wholly irresponsible, considering the shaky science of mandating facial coverings to protect the healthy, to state nothing of the scientific idiocy of cloth facial coverings in-general.

Critics will lambaste my citation and retort with exhortations of “masking effectiveness”, citing multiple papers & sources. Thus, my intent is not to go down the bunny-hole of “study vs. study”: My intent is to wholly-discredit those promoting / supporting / compelling lockdowns and destroying their premise altogether in one fell swoop with a singular event.

Here is the revelation Re the grave milestone:

The United States has exceeded death-parity with Sweden:

This occurred September 4th, having reached parity based upon reported numbers at Worldometers.info the day prior. It’s an incredibly-stunning revelation. Why, then, the media silence? How can U.S. states’ governors ignore reality? Ironically, even this week most U.S. governors & political leaders resist relaxing the restrictions. Why? One needs only to view current news to cite the hypocrisy, and the drumbeat of Swedish criticism by “lockdown promoters / defenders” flies in the face of a fatality rate by population which hardly justifies such a reaction: Those under 50 live with a risk of death by drowning and motor vehicle crash which is 2x & 3x, respectively, greater than dying of Wuhan Coronavirus (do the math for yourselves).

In spite of ample scientific & epidemiological evidence to the contrary (even in March), U.S. health leaders (i.e. Anthony Fauci & Deborah Birx) chose to advise a “slow the curve” and “stay-at-home” approach for our population. “What evidence?” you may ask?

Dr. William Farr’s 180 year-old “Farr’s Law” of epidemics, which demonstrates that an epidemic follows a predictable rise in cases (and deaths), declining at a mathematical rate. But as a result of the Fauci/Birx recommendations, >4 of 5 American states’ governors imposed “mitigation measures”, the “new normal” as described by fear-mongering, lockdown defenders. History will undoubtedly demonstrate the untenable nature of those decisions due not only to the impact upon the Treasury from “stimulus / unemployment / hardship” direct payments from the treasury, but loss of businesses, homes and economic output to-boot. Frankly, the full damage won’t be realized until every municipal, county & state entity drafts their new ‘revenue’ forecasts for the next budgetary cycle (tax receipts have cratered), to state nothing of the precipice of foreclosures and bankruptcies sure to follow as the full effect of July’s end of “forebearance” is realized.

The lockdowns were also deadly. The intransigence of medical professionals to adopt alternative treatments for afflicted patients has killed many: In spite of ample evidence of the prophylactic & therapeutic effectiveness of Hydroxychloroquine and my own working theory governing propylene glycol mist therapy, doctors show preference for demonstrably-failed ventilator therapy (a death-sentence, by some accounts). The marshalling of medical resources for a forecasted “surge” had tragic effects as well: Statistics due out next year are sure to demonstrate a prohibitive rise in suicides and deaths from otherwise-preventable health conditions due to stay-at-home orders, termination of millions of jobs and restrictions upon “elective” medical procedures imposed to keep the hospitals free of capacity for a “modeled” infection surge which never came.

Critics will charge that the “surge” or consequent “2nd wave / 3rd wave” never materialized as a result of the efficacy of the lockdowns, but that begs the obvious question:

How, then, is it possible that the U.S. achieved parity with Sweden’s death-rate by population, a country which DID NOT impose restrictive “mitigation measures” upon its healthy population? I would argue that propaganda played a role: The media was complicit - a key player - in compelling compliance with WHO directives which were adopted by the U.S. under Fauci/Birx. For example, MSN promoted this Business Insider piece which compared Illinois to Iowa (the latter NOT having imposed stay-at-home orders like Illinois):

Illinois imposed a swift lockdown, while Iowa never ordered residents to stay home. A comparison of bordering counties reveals the price Iowa paid.

That was May 21st. As of September 2nd, Illinois’ death rate by population (655/1M) is nearly twice that of Iowa (357/1M) and ironically higher than Sweden (576). It should now be clear that the facts of this epidemic are not as we’ve been told by the “experts” and that deaths are not avoided by “flattening the curve”: They have merely lengthened the epidemic. The obvious question is “Why?” I would argue “politics”.

In conclusion:

The U.S. parity to Sweden’s deaths-per-million is prima facie evidence that lockdowns are useless. Sweden’s approach – running the gamut of “mitigation measures” which they refused to compel - can no longer be labeled as a “failure” and their leaders can no longer be pilloried as having “killed its citizens”.

In the wake of this milestone, there is no scientific nor medical rationale for continuing government mandates as they currently exist. We must learn to live with this virus rather than fight an untenable battle and cease politicization of the “Virus Crisis”. Moving forward, people would be wise to hearken the Reagan dictum of the “10 most feared words”:

“We’re here from the government and we’re here to help.”

It is a tragedy on multiple levels that this epidemic will be decided not by governmental action or medical progress, but by an election and a 180 year-old paradigm of epidemics; we shall see how this plays out in the coming weeks as news of this “grave milestone” is such that the mainstream media can no longer ignore it.

It’s time to get back to normal. The science of Farr’s Law will deliver an end to this epidemic faster and less costly than government mandates. It’s the reason that Spanish Flu quietly slithered away, much like Wuhan Coronavirus will do...if our “leaders” would just let it.

You didn't read it. Clearly. And yes, I have. There are outliers all over the planet.

Sweden was the pariah, an example used to pillory critics of the lockdown (e.g. my article citations). Pariah, that is, until last Thursday. I believe that Trump was also following the trend of deaths/million U.S. vs. Sweden and that that is the rationale for the shift in policy from the WH. If you search for anything on that statistic I cite in my article, I am the only one on the planet to have made citation of that milestone thus far. Gee: I wonder why.../s

So you're suggesting that it's Ok to play whack-a-mole and permit extrajudicial, tyrannical and, in fact, fascist mandates carte blanche approval?

Even if that's not your intent, the result is the same and you totally miss the point of my argument (which is, in part, self-inflicted on my part trying to keep the word count down for submission elsewhere...which didn't happen).

For example, if you sort the Worldometer list by deaths and highlight those states which have mask mandates (in red), it becomes patently clear that masks have ZERO effect upon spread of SARS-CoV-2.

It's clear that government mandates - illegal and scientifically/medically unjustified at that - have no basis and should end immediately, adopting a much different approach to protect those most at-risk.

To assert otherwise mandates a label of CCP "propagandist/agent."

You may as well compare the US death per million to chaotic Italy which is at 588.

I already posted these numbers but how do these nations with comparable standard of living as the USA stack up on Covid deaths per million?

I know for sure that Germany got locked down. Same for Japan for a while. Australia has severe paranoia so is very locked down at the moment. Norway was locked down for a while.

Denmark-108
Finland-—61,
Norway—50
on Worldometer — https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

Also
Germany— 112
Sweden -— 577
USA —— 582
Canada ——242

Deaths per million
New Zealand -— 5
Australia—— 29
Japan -— 11

Sweden and several European countries have had high death rates. On the other hand a number of European countries have had rather low death rates. For example, check at Worldometers, Covid-9, and compare Sweden versus Denmark—big difference. It would be good to determine how the countries with low death rates compare with those with high rates. Is it HCL or related meds, masking, social distancing, closing businesses, etc. Excepting Italy and Spain that were hit hard before we knew much about the disease or its spread.

Don’t forget US figures were skewed high because of the heavy early death rates in NY, NJ, Conn., Mass., and now Louisiana each having more than 1,000 deaths per million. They suffered from the airport arrivals of people from Italy and other places which were already suffering cases, but were not being monitored and questioned like arrivals from China. What is also interesting is the fact that while Sweden now has 577 dead per million, Norway has only 49, and Finland 61, while directly across the water Denmark has 108. Lockdowns and masking were proving effective in the US, once we determined their effectiveness and had enough masks available.

“Lockdowns and masking were proving effective in the US, once we determined their effectiveness and had enough masks available.”

Your premise is without merit on the basis of actual stats on the ground: The table provided would be weighted red toward the bottom if that held any truth whatsoever. Lockdowns only delayed the inevitable, at incredible cost, saving no lives whatsoever. That’s Farr’s Law.

Fail. Try again.

I fail to understand the irrational logic applied by supposed Conservatives when it comes to masks/facial coverings. The Spanish Flu did not end because of masks: It ended because the population reached herd immunity and it died out. The same will bear out here with outliers around the planet, such is the epidemiology of viruses...if we survive the ‘cure’ until there’s a vaccine for those most at-risk (the healthy will reach herd immunity regardless in spite of masks, but masks will delay the inevitable).
