It wouldn’t surprise me even a little bit to learn that no name succumbed to the torture very quickly and committed some traitorous acts as a POW. His rise to power in the following years would have allowed him to rewrite his own history and silence those who challenged his version of events.

I hope the public eventually learns that he was executed for the crimes he committed after his captivity. At that point, nobody will be surprised to learn of his potentially less-than-honourable days as a POW.

I heard they broke him very quickly and he sang like a bird.

It’s been said, that everyone breaks eventually. I have no experience with this and I don’t know anyone who has.
