Some parts of California, Contra Costa I believe, this would entitle you to loot a sporting goods store. No charges if you need what you loot
This is similar to what happens to all the powder, primers, and reloading equipment everytime there is some type of panic. Most people do not even know how to use the stuff, but those who do like to have “a little extra on hand” to get through the hard times if things really go south.
Give a man a fish..... Teach a man to fish..... comes to my mind.
I bought lots of monofilament line in different test strengths, years ago. Stored in a cool dry place, out of the light, its still good.
Well, as long as they don’t run out of dynamite, I’ll have fish for dinner.
Probably the fact that too many rods and reels are made by slave labor in Communist China has had an impact.
And canning lids!
Give a man a fire and hes warm for a day. Set a man on fire and hes warm for the rest of his life.
So anyway.
My wife complains about the steady stream of Amazon Prime (I know, I know) packages filled with fishing equipment showing up at our house. I can get anything I want, fishing-wise online and receive it in 2 days, with occasional exceptions.
Theres a run on weed-less light-weight Ned rig hooks right now. Go figure.
As far as ammo is concerned, I try to keep 500 rounds of parabellum on hand, and I take the rest for shooting range practice. Its whittling away my retirement funds but Ive had no trouble finding the stuff.
I can only dream of the days you could get 50 rounds of the stuff for $8.
Lots of areas of shortage, lawn and garden isn’t nearly as robust.
They told me there’s a shortage of plants.
Gizzards which are part of the dog food I cook are almost impossible to get.
They have started to show up on an irregular basis.
I don’t think we’ve yet felt the full force of this stupid shut-down.
I think November is going to be bad and so I had hoped to get some extra packed away.(cleared some of my old stuff and wasn’t diligent in replacing)
It’s going to be on availability terms, yay, we get a minute taste of that good old communism.

I’m Joe BenHiden.
Same here, replaced all the line on all my reels last winter, because it was time, prices were cheap and it needed to be done, bought some new reels and spooled them up and replaced the busted, saltwater plays heck with them all!
Should be good for amother decade, lol
That's funny, you're probably the only one on FR with that problem. I add liver for my dogs, it's been a little tough finding that too. I wonder why there would be any shortage of animal parts. I understand the different supply chains, restaurant vs grocery, but are people eating less protein?
I don’t think it’s a big issue in terms of a shortage, haven’t read much this time around. But in the past I have read of bombs, particularly pipe bombs, being made with powder. The Boston bomber used black powder. More likely, for every one of those new gunowners, there’s probably a longtime gunowner thinking this is the time to lay in reloading equipment and supplies.
I don't have that problem, I get to the packages first. But I have to return her stuff.
We’re out on Navajo Lake as I type this and we had a hard time finding the right color pike lures at Cabella’s. No matter. They seem to be digging the bass lures.
Funny. Do you remember the Osama bin Hiden jokes?
50 rounds,?!?
.
How about a
Hellfire?
Dang,
No.
But they’re
Out there!
