Daaaaaaaaan Ingraham!
Many of us remember the old days, of listening to AM radio and listening to favorite DJs and the “top 40” hits.
The radio business has really changed. The music stations have departed AM for FM. And few stations seem to have the prominent DJ personalities anymore.
This is a slice of Americana from a time gone by. I hope all the listeners enjoy.
I remember him from the original “Dirty Dancing” movie when he was on the car radio. (At least I think that was him.)
I got to see Cousin Brucie at Great Adventure New Jersey in the ‘90s (I was too late for Palisades. We in Connecticut went to Riverside in Agawam, MA).
He was there with Davey Jones. Good times. My then-girlfriend’s mother was more excited by Cousin Brucie than I was. I had heard of him, but he was of her era, and on her radio in Brooklyn.
Thsnk God he’s off SXM! Love the 60’s channel but can’t stand his show, which is like going to someone else’s high school reunion if you didn’t grow up in NYC. Youse can have him!
Yes, the opening scene when they arrive at the resort at 12 noon. Everything in that scene was historically accurate. The Olds 88 they were riding in would’ve been brand new. Walk Like a Man by the 4 Seasons was a big hit at that time. Except, Cousin Bruce was not on the air at that time slot. He’d do evenings, usually 9PM-midnight.
I must have seen that movie 50 times.
I thought I was one of the last people still alive who remembers WABC-77AM!!!
84 is old to be returning.
Nope.
I grew up listening to “77 WABC (clang)” in central Joisey.
Last time I saw Brucie was at Radio City Music Hall when he did a tribute to Dion and the Belmont’s some time in the 80’s.
We get WABC here in Pittsburgh, PA. Will be sure to check out his show.
Herb Oscar Anderson!
He has had a show on Sirius for a while. When he is on,I turn him off. I want to listen to music, not get the whole experience. I get that a lot of folks enjoy that. Thats why there are many channels.
God bless him though. I hope I am passionate about ANYTHING at 84.
Good for him it will keep him going. Men who keep working seem to hang on longer.
Except, Cousin Bruce was not on the air at that time slot. Hed do evenings, usually 9PM-midnight....
Where he was followed by Bob Bobbalu Lewis sponsored by Denison Clothiers on Rte 22 one mile South of The Flagship.
I LOVE Cousin Brucie, and have missed his broadcasts....and, great music, of course!!
Much of the music was before my time, but I love listening, nonetheless. Calming and happiness, all (rock and) rolled, together! 🎶
Plus, I think there is a 'Listen LIVE' button, on their homepage.
Whenever I hear his voice, I think Cousin Brucie sounds like Penn Jillette.
