do any of you people know how close hamptons is to New York City and that people go there for the weekend or a week? What a silly article to post.
If I go to the Jersey shore for the weekend does that mean I have left New York City for good? ..what a bunch of old hens from boring States commenting constantly on New York City :-)

Apparently Seinfeld doesn’t - he’s the one who made the contrast. His example.
I do. I live right smack dab in the the middle of the two locations.
Anyway, I think the article is pointing out that when Seinfeld says that NYC isn't dead, he's speaking as somebody who has a second home that he can escape too.
And yes, I know that the other four boroughs aren't emptying out, it's just Manhattan.
There’s distance in terms of miles, and distance in terms of time.
A trip from NYC to the Hamptons can take quite a while, depending on traffic and the route.
It is pretty weak.
I mean as a zinger for Seinfeld.
You’re a funny guy. I hope you never leave New York. People like you are why the rest of the country absolutely hate New York.
I get it, by boring states you mean states that are not jammed full of controlling leftist, where they're not rioting, looting and committing widespread crimes. Sure glad I live in one of those boring states!
