Let her try. 35 or 40 states in the Union will probably disconnect their phone lines to DC and go about business as if Washington didn’t exist. The proof of the pudding will be when she retaliates and sees just how much of the federal machine responds to her cackling, squawking, and wing flapping. At best, she will be a placeholder while the real warfare rages behind the scenes. It’ll be the dying gasp of a booze-addled old crone brought up in the corrupt political machinery of Baltimore, and bought into the halls of Congress by family money. I’ll relish her demise as much as seeing Hillary keel off a stage and into the orchestra pit from a stroke during an NPR Q&A while wearing one of her Chairman Mao pantsuits that hide the colostomy bag strapped to her fat, cellulite-bloated thigh. And I want either or both to happen live on TV, for posterity. It would be like watching your much-despised ex-wife get hit by a runaway Greyhound bus, right after you discovered that the pig used your credit score to open a new charge account that she let go to collections.
For the Speaker of the House to ascend to the presidency, both the President and Vice President would have to be incapcitated simultaneously as in the event of an accident or attack.
If the vice president ascends to the office he has the right to appoint a new vice president without approval of Congress. Just as Nixon appointed Gerald Ford after Spiro Agnew plead nolo contendre to corruption charges and was forced to resign. After Nixon resigned the new President Ford then appointed Nelson Rockefller as vice President.
Thus if for whatever reason Pence becomes president due to Trumps removal, Pence gets to appoint a new vice president....leaving Pelosi and the dims gnashing their teeth and wailing away.
