And if they file such a lawsuit and lose, will they have to pay Kyle’s legal expenses? and maybe penalties for emotional distress.
Young Kyle was running from their family members. And they brought the fight to Kyle. I don’t think a jury is going to look fondly on a man throwing a brick at young Kyle. Or a man hitting young Kyle with a skateboard.
Rittenhouse can can file a wrongful death & mental anguish lawsuit against the estates of the deceased (and the survivor). They voluntarily & unprovoked acted in a manner practically compelling Kyle to use lethal force, alternative being death.
It takes 30 minutes for me just to get out of my town. Either way, the effort he made to travel 12 miles *could* be argued that he had malicious intent. The fact he was asked to come there would show otherwise. Gotta think like a laywer; it’s actually pretty fun!
I agree with everything you wrote.
Still, even if it was just bad judgement wandering off on his part, that wasn’t a crime.
At this point we are just discussing the chain of events as we think they went down. It will all become clearer in the days and weeks.
I think you think like me..let’s not be careless with our lives...we need to stay alive to vote and unfortunately possibly defend much more closer and personally important turf some day.
I pray it doesn’t come to that.
Have a good one.
Who knows? I prefer not to debate hypothetical questions.........
This guy may either be sleeping with one eye open for the rest of his life or end up in hiding after all of this, regardless of how any civil suit goes.
I always thought it was odd that Staten Island was not part of New Jersey, instead of part of New York. It is not only much closer to NJ, but is almost fully contained “within” NJ (I know, there is the Bay to the east). Logistically, it should be part of NJ. But, who would want to be part of NJ?
The Left is not going let their new citizen police force, the obama and soros antifa and blm groups, be confronted by gun wielding citizens. Democrat mayors and DA’s are quick to put any peace keeping vigilantes up on a pole as a clear message of who is in charge.
Beat them to the punch and COUNTERsue these pathetic, absentee parents of these thugs for raising dangerous animals without a leash or cage.
Kyle’s lawyer should sue the criminals that attacked Kyle for damages. Also Kyle’s lawyer should sue any enemydia who falsely defame Kyle (I think the lawyer has some experience in doing that).

Check out the video. Hes on the ground with two pistol brandishing rioters, who have chased him down, standing over him. The kid does a Matt Dillon and shoots the pistol arm rather than a couple of rounds to the chest.
The MSM are also falling into the same self-made trap they stepped into with the Covington Kid, meaning Kyle is likely, after a lot of suffering, to be able to sue them for libel and prove huge damages, given his being a minor and not a public figure.
> You carry a weapon to a hot spot and openly carry it...you’d better have some bank. <
To which Ill add: Open carry is legal in Wisconsin. But you must be at least 18 years old. If nothing else, the state can convict Rittenhouse on that - hes 17.
That age problem would also weaken Rittenhouses defense in a civil trial.
Side comment: I have noted elsewhere that I think Rittenhouse is a patsy in all this. His friends asked him to go to Kenosha. No one in their right mind would ask a 17-year-old to grab a rifle, then go stand off a mob in some other city. This isnt 1776, yet.
His pals are probably all home now watching TV. But even if hes found innocent, Rittenhouse will be in jail for a long time.
Basic rule of civil litigation: Anybody can sue anyone else about anything.
Different country but SI still has lots of Patriots. Got a few pals (most are are retired) NYPD and NYFD who are still there.
Perhaps they could obtain a judgment lien against his rifle, his unspent ammunition and the clothes he was wearing at the time. I doubt he has much other than those. But, of course, he will need those to pay his attorney. :-)
In the United States you can sue any time you want, but it doesn’t mean you’ll win.
A wrongful death suit is a civil suit. A defendant cannot be found guilty in a civil suit. A defendant can only be found liable in a civil suit.

Exactly!
