CNN’s Don Lemon admitted what we’ve all thought: he ripped Slow Joe as being too weak to stand up to the rioters and looters:
“I think Democrats are ignoring this problem or hoping that it will go away...Joe Biden may be afraid to do it...He’s got to address it. He’s got to come out and talk about it.”
He is strategizing, but he also torpedoed Slow Joe.
Sadly, I think this is what Democrats are going to create with their ineptitude.
In Washington State the law states that “self defense” includes protecting yourself, your property, or anyone else or property from harm.
However, prosecutors of late have made it difficult for those protecting property. And it has always been based on “reasonable force” to stop the threat.
Years ago a neighbor saw some guy stealing a TV from a neighbor’s home that he knew was out of town. The neighbor shot the guy in the butt with a broadhead arrow. Called the police and the thief was arrested. The DA made a point of saying that it was a legal “shoot”. But if he had killed the thief it would not have been legal. Sounds goofy to me - but I wouldn’t want to test it over a TV.
The BEST thing you can do is get trained on what you can do. CCW courses, unarmed courses and similar. Learn the law or be subjected to it.
Remember: These rioters have allies high up in government. You do not. They will roast you alive as an example to others if they can do so.
Do not initiate a confrontation, be familiar enough with the specifics of the law that you know the immediate response to any given situation. That is the only way you can truly protect yourself and those you love.

In the State of SC, you can only defend your property with deadly force. It is a gray area for your neighbor’s house.
The militia group in Kenosha raises alarms, something is off on them. They were there to protect property and to support the protestors. Jacob Blake stated that in an interview before the shooting.
Is this Militia group a Libertarian group? I have to wonder, a conservative militia group would not be there to support BLM.
I notice a lot of Libertarian mindsets here on the Free Republic are quick to condemn the Police. Are the Libertarians supporting BLM positions?
Are the Antifa/BLM factions using/exploiting Libertarians to be the boogeyman (Kenosha Militia Group)?
I have noticed my local Libertarian friends are anti-authoritarianism where the police are evil.
I live in the country. When I see a vehicle or people I don't know on any of my neighbor's properties I hop in my truck and investigate with my 44 on my hip and Mr Mossberg in hand.
I ask two questions: Who are you and Who's property are you on? Wrong answers get a call to the owner and a couple of times to the Sheriff.
All of my neighbors appreciate it and many call me to let me know when someone is coming out to their property.
No, not unless hired as an agent of the property owners. And the prevailing rule in self defense situations in any event is “you cannot shoot an unarmed opponent.”

Many years ago in some Midwest town was a bully who terrorized everyone he came upon. One day a crowd of people surrounded him and he got shot and killed. Not one person in that crowd saw a thing. There were zero witnesses. I would guess that similar things will start to happen to these looters. Buckshot goes a long way and the ballistics are very difficult to trace. Similarly the creedmore bullet from 800 yards. This crap can’t continue, people are getting tired of it and will eventually rise up and make it stop.
It’s very heartening the way that virtually all of conservatism has rallied behind this 17 year old. It’s to the point that the media is shying away from the story. None of that would be the case if he had shot two black men. But that’s not what happened this time. They couldn’t find any “racist” stuff on his social media, and the people he shot were Caucasian. The agitation will continue until The Left gets a better shooter and victims for their purposes. For right now, they want to talk about hurricanes.
As one already pointed out in Texas force is authorized to prevent the commission of a immediate class A felony which are homicide, rape, assault,home invasion, kidnapping, arson..ARSON, burglary of a habitation, and specifically at night burglary and or vandalism of a vehicle.
The use of force is authorized against a fleeing felon if the person witnessed the commission of said felony and a reasonable person would belive that allowing the felon to escape would risk further harm to themselves or others.
In Texas the authorization of force ALWAYS INCLUDES DEADLY FORCE. The use of force in Texas implies the explicit authorization of serious bodily injury and or death. If one is authorized to use force they automatically are expected to be using deadly force.
Texas penal code also has provisions authorizing the use of force for the protection and defense of a third party in immediate danger of serious bodily injury, as well as a provision for the protection of a third party property at the employment OR request of the property owner at which point that person is an acting agent of the land/property owner with all the rights and privileges under the penal code as the owner. Best to have that in duplicate in writing and I speak to this from professional experience again have authorization from the lawful owner IN WRITING can I it again HAVE IT IN WRITING. I have seen people get locked up for specifically this when they’re “buddy” or neighbor “said” watch their property.
I am a 11 LEO veteran at the federal level and county level in the Great State of Texas.
I spend fifty dollars per month on concealed carry insurance. The only time i would ever use lethal force is to protect myself or others. A stolen tv rates a call to the police and nothing more.
