Theyre supposed to facilitate races, not racism.
The New York Racing Association paid a black Spanish-language horse-racing announcer less than half the salary of white broadcasters who were required to perform fewer duties and axed him after he complained about the disparity, according to a new federal lawsuit.

How about "white English-language announcer"? White language? Then what do non-whites from the U.S. mostly speak?
Larry Collmus and Tom Durkin are arguably the two most known race callers in America. Then again, that is probably "racism," too.
"white American man" all have it easy in life. We get it!
So I guess he is charging RACISM in this suit?
Yup. I read one article that used the term “white audience” for the white announcers. It may have come as a surprise but blacks, Asians, etc., even some Hispanics, listen to the English broadcasts. I suppose the person thinks U.S. blacks listen to the Spanish broadcasts. The antagonism against whites and men in this nation is getting profound.
Harvey Pack wants to say “May the horse be with you.”
Eddie Murphy got paid more than me just because he’s more charming and famous than me.

FTR, neither calls races in New York anymore. Durkin retired. I believe Collmus thought he was worth more than the NYRA thought he was worth. John Imbreale calls most of the races now. Frank Mirahmadi fills in sometimes.

Yes. Durkin was my all-time favorite. “If a picture iw=s worth a thousand words, this photo finish is worth five million dollars. Oh no, history in the waiting.” One of the best calls in any sport, ever.
Collmus is at Del Mar now.
Fred Capossela for me. He called the races clearly, without injecting himself into his racecalls. Unfortunately, his successor, Dave Johnson, made the calls more about him than the race itself. ("Down the stretch they come." WTF else would they go?!) Today most sports announcers continue that trend. Your quote is a case in point. Durkin had all sorts of prepared lines. He was rarely spontaneous. An exception, I think, was the second half of the 2002 Test Stakes at Saratoga. (I.e. excepting the "Photo finish that doesn't deserve a loser," which was typical Durkin.)
