Yeh, I wish we had more family around us here. They are almost all on the other side of the state or out of state. We have lived here since 1969, but since we weren’t born here-we are still sort of considered foreigners.
Most of our neighbors sold out and moved, so we have new neighbors who are younger and not very friendly.
What you said about your new neighbors... they may just be very caught up in their invisible, electronic lives. It reminded me of here in Houston, after Hurricane Harvey, when we were out of power for days and days, then community spirit starts to return and people have time and interest in just chatting. I’m really thinking finding a few trustworthy people and banding together and having a plan if the SHTF, e.g. ruffians in the neighborhood causing disturbances or worse.
