I’m now definitely going to try some hostas. I had thought about them in my dense shade but had no clue they had scents! I’m hooked on fragrant plants because I’m severely allergic to most synthetic perfumey stuff. Love a fragrance but need it natural.
Hostas are perennials. I know because I live in Minnesota...
They are very attractive when done right.
(Not that I had anything to do with them except the ooohing and aaaahing.)
I get ill around perfumes/scented products too. A few years ago a friend of mine had me try essential oils. I like lavender augustifolia and jasmine the best. I buy the concentrated essential oil and mix it (about 8 drops) with distilled water and a few drops of grape seed oil, in a small mist spray bottle. I got all the stuff at a health food store.
I hope you find lots of neat hosta varieties. There are so many interesting ones.
