nobody..i mean nobody..that I saw predicted this one
I saw a video recently of Donald Trump driver in-hand walk up to the tee and sink a hole-in-one off that first tee. He casually walks off and hands his driver to his caddy as if it was no big deal. The crowd watching, on the other hand, went wild. They couldn’t believe what they just witnessed.
I don’t play golf. I don’t know why it showed up in my feed. But, even I know a shot like that isn’t a common occurrence.
What a great story. I didn’t know about the Trump - Herman connection. I was just watching the Northern Trust round one while practicing chips in my garage. Playing a tough course tomorrow, Inkster Valley. Don’t get me wrong at 62 I and most everyone I golf with totally suck at the game, but we have fun.
Your right; Herman did an unexpectedly great job; just kept his mind & nerves under control, one hole at a time. It was great seeing an “oldster” (in his 40s) leading.
The flip side of that win was the win the week before when one of the youngest players on tour, Collin Morikowa (from California), age 23, won the PGA Championship. That win (1st PGA win before age 24) is matched by only three other players - Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, and Rory McIlroy.
I don’t play golf myself. My dad did and one brother does. I watch it because unlike Baseball, Basketball and Football, I enjoy nearly all the players; it really is a game of and by gentlemen.
