Various shortages have struck during the coronavirus pandemic, ranging from toilet paper (which was caused by panic buying during the early days), coins, and even aluminum cans. Now, pepperoni has apparently fallen victim to the pandemic.
Pizza shops across the United States say theyre paying higher prices for the popular topping and have noticed that the supply has become tighter, Bloomberg reports. Restaurants from New York to South Dakota have reportedly seen a significant increase in price, with the cost nearly doubling in some areas.
According to the news outlet, other meat products saw temporary price increases during the pandemic. While ground beef became more expensive earlier in the year, the price has reportedly started to drop. Pepperoni, on the other hand, continues to be expensive.

They are not looking in the right places. Just yesterday I saw a huge pallet of John Morrel Pepperoni at Costco.

Verily, the end of days is upon us.
“I like wild mushrooms the best”
Pick carefully, Liver transplants are a bitch.
Pineapple was never intended to be used on pizza.......
Love the squid and egg toppings. ... Tokyo. ...
If you are using pineapple then it is not a pizza. It’s a cheesy, meaty, fruit pie........
Have you ever tried Jimmy Dean’s frozen breakfast sandwiches? I tried Aunt Jemima’s a few years ago and they were truly awful.
Anchovies.
cow pastures. 8-)
Am a big fan of Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches.
Sausage, egg and cheese are good. Also the “croissant” version.
Too greasy.
My gut don’t like no greasy.
Thanks. I will try them. They’re on sale this week.
I like Canadian bacon on pizza much better!!
I am growing my own meat
I ordered chickens online- I started with 12, and after incubating some eggs I had over 30 at one point, processed them and had a freezerful for a year
I grew 40 more, but the hawks got 30 of them. So it’s been a bad summer- I can easily see how one bad day of not watching them closely enough could result in starvation from the predators eating most of the crop
The predators have been crazy this year! I never had this much of a problem
another major crisis.....

I’m having calamari for lunch today.
Back in the 60s... Somewhere around Bothel Washington was a Shakey’s pizza parlor that had Canadian bacon and shrimp pizza.
My sister loved Canadian bacon, my mom loved shrimp, my dad ate spaghetti cuz he was allergic to shellfish. I was 10 and didn’t have a vote. But the pizza was pretty good.
