Part of the plan. PDJT trap for the DS.
I would bet that Trump’s tax records are squeaky clean. (And if they aren’t, I would bet it’s something very minor that turns out to be a trap within a trap.)
The DS is demanding the right to see his tax records. This is going to open the door to force all the DS to show their tax records. Maybe we’ll get a law passed.
What happens then?
Options:
1. We see the corruption spelled out in their tax records.
2. They have clean tax records. (Bwahahahahaha. fat chance.)
3. They have what looks like clean tax records. We catch them in the lies and forgeries.
I have to admit this part of the movie is kind of boring to me. But I think the fireworks it leads to will be major.

Trump said a few years ago that he has guys working on his tax returns constantly and is audited every single year and never has anything wrong with taxe returns etc. So I am sure he is 100% squeaky clean.
The Demsheviks, however.....
Recalling Capone and company I watch this thing with PDJT’s taxes with interest. Granted, it is slow moving. I expect some great derp dirt to be illuminated on down this path.
If Trump’s taxes aren’t clean the IRS has got some ‘splainin’ to do.
They don’t need ‘clean’. They are going to bemoan the legal use of tax avoidance and how Trump “walks the line up against illegality”, etc. etc. etc.
They also want to learn where the big mortgages are who holds them. They will then pressure the mortgagees.
