I’m not sure. Making a record of your own vote should be allowed, but unless everyone does so, would mean nothing for audit purposes.

Old normal is more like it. The secret ballot was imported from Australia and was called the Australian ballot. The easiest voting was people lining up in opposite corners of a bar and being counted. Everyone knew how you had voted, including the guy who gave you a shot of whisky to vote for him.

Later ballot boxes were used, but they had glass sides so that everyone could see which party you voted for—the different parties used different colored ballots. This again was to ensure honesty on the part of the voter. If you drink my liquor you better vote for me!

So in a sense, the dems are being old school here, if we feed you, house you, and give you phones and internet, by God you will vote for us!

Long story but I once happened to see her go crazy berating her staff in a public setting.she was obviously drunk. Absolutely illegal in Florida to take picture in a voting place. I had to stop so many moms with first time voting teens wanting the Instagram pic.

As a current/long-serving Presiding Election Judge in Texas & a former senior Election Judge in Virginia, I can tell you that in both States that even TURNING ON a cellphone OR taking photos using a camera will get you ARRESTED/CHARGED & LOCKED UP in jail.= We have LARGE SIGNS (2 feet by 3 feet) at every entrance/exit to every polling place that TELLS voters what our State LAW is.
(Counting my combined service in TX & VA, this is my 40TH year as an Election Officer/Judge.)

Frankly, I do NOT know the laws in other states on that subject BUT I do know TX & VA election laws.
(BEFORE you decided to carry a “turned on” camera/cellphone into the voting booth in YOUR jurisdiction ASK if it is lawful to do so.)
