If you go by the media, Hawaii is #1 in infection rates. They are all brainwashed about covid right now and there is so much misinformation out there.
Being outdoors helps but maybe Hawaii locals are just tired of “Haole’s” coming over and breaking their quarantine and rental rules and whatever other laws they want.
I a a little sick of all the smelly New Yorkers and New Jersians coming over to my state and littering and crowding up the streets on weekends, quite frankly.
So I can kind of feel for her a little.

I have no desire to go to Hawaii again. Their rules seem very onerous. After all has settled down my desire won’t change. They can take out all the commercials they want. Hopefully this lady and her family won’t lose their house due to higher taxes needed to make up the tourist revenue shortfall.
Same with the NFL, NBA, or Disneyland events or their products.
It frees up money for other things. I hope they don’t ask for bailouts.
I am from Hawaii. Those people were not on the beach, they were on the grass. Beach in Hawaii is usually defined by sand.
There are illegal vacation rentals, and legal ones.We dont know if this is a legal rental. I can understand the reason why the locals dont want vacation rentals in their neighborhood. It brings more traffic, noise, and strangers into your neighborhood.
I never understood why you would need a permit to have a wedding on a Hawaii beach. You can bring 50 of your friends, set up chairs and canopies and have a barbecue, but to have ten people stand on a beach participating in a wedding requires a permit,is a bit much.
Hawaii has a covid problem right now. Years of Democrat leadership has made their response inadequate. The hospitals are not ready, they have to ship their testing supplies to the mainland, and they have 15 contact tracers in the whole state.
They are going to have a possible one month complete shutdown this week.
