Toe surgery went well yesterday. My super smart and very lovely orthopedic surgeon latet told me...no bone chips.....entire big joint on big toe had spurs.

She said it was technically 1 spur but the entire joint was “affected.”

Was able to do a quick lap in my backyard garden yesterday evening iny walking boot, thank you oxy pill.

That allowed me to gather my veggies for dinner.

I had to sleep on my couch wearing the boot and foot elevated. Didn’t get much sleep.

Wife and daughter being good to me....very patient.

I am able to take off the walking boot today and relax the leg a bit in an elevated position in my recliner.

I had deep watered the garden the night before surgery and I usually only do that 1 or 2 times a week on established plants this time of year.

But the Lord must not want me getting antsy and trying to water the garden in the next few days because we had a nice, long, downpour today for about an hour....not too long and not too hard.....just right.

Since I am down and out of commission right now I decided to text msgs to many people who are important to me and twll them to go jump in a ....no...I texted them all nice messages of support and gratefulness.

Once in a while ya gotta remind those people that they are valued and appreciated.

Work update. Passed all the required written and interview tests for Seargent.

O am #30 on the liat out of 54. So not too bad and in normal times I would be assured of being promoted off of this list (lasts 2 years)

It is to bee seen how all this defunsing talk will do to my chances.

Could mean less SGT positions existing but it is also driving cops to quit, retire, or go to other agencies.

One guy I work with who was in top ten on this list just quit so he is no longer in front of me.

And in reality they could drive me out with a couple more bad days in a row.

Glad you’re on the mend. I’m sure you’re happy to have this taken care of; I’m sure it hurt!

“And in reality they could drive me out with a couple more bad days in a row.”

Your situation is critical, but I’m thinking a LOT of people are re-thinking their jobs, livelihoods, careers and their lives in GENERAL after the BS we’ve put with for the past 6 months.

I predict we are going to see many people becoming more self-sufficient, growing gardens, learning how to DO things, etc. And sending their children in that direction, too. Tech School over an over-priced and most-likely USELESS College degree.

JMHO. I wish you well!
